SJSU reverses course, will accept spring applicants... with a catch...

'Reversing course, San Jose State will now open for spring 2011 admissions — although students can't actually enroll unless the state provides enough money.

'SJSU and the entire California State University system announced on Thursday that they'll start taking applications on Sunday and will immediately start the process of deciding who's eligible to attend. The application window closes Aug. 31.

'Then, if California quickly solves its latest state budget stalemate and restores more money to CSU, the university will admit qualified students right away. If the budget crisis lingers, CSU may hold applications in limbo until the budget is solved.'

Fall 2010 schedule is posted online

The Fall 2010 schedule of classes is now available online:

http://foothill.edu/schedule/schedule.php

Be aware that classes are still subject to be deleted between now and about the second week of the fall quarter. So you may see classes disappear from the schedule before you are able to add them to your schedule.

Be sure you know when you are able to log on and register for your fall classes. With enrollment still bulging at Foothill, classes will fill up quickly.

Good luck!

San Jose State: no spring 2011 admissions

'The decision includes spring 2011 applications from all prospective first-time freshmen, community college transfer students, graduate students, and students seeking a second bachelor's degree. Exceptions include non-state-funded programs for working professionals, such as engineers and teachers, and several teacher credentialing programs.'

Last week to add a class...

This is the second week of the summer quarter. That means this is also the last week you can late add a class. You'll need to get the instructor's permission to do that and if there are any pre-requisites required for the class (including placement tests), you'll need to get those all settled this week before you can be added to the class.

So if you are contemplating taking a summer Foothill class, you need to get to it this week by the end of the day on Thursday since the campus (including Admissions & Records) is closed on Fridays.
