Summer biology course tips/suggestions

Show up to the first class/lab meeting(s)...

If you are enrolled or waitlisted for a class or lab, make sure to attend the first class/lab meeting; enrolled or waitlisted students who do not are subject to being dropped automatically from class enrollment or its waitlist, respectively.

Time is fleeting...

Summer quarter is short: six weeks for most Foothill courses, with eight weeks the length of most Foothill biology courses and their labs. Because of that compressed schedule, things move along quickly. So...
  • Buy all your class materials (texts, lab manuals, etc.) early and have them ready to go;
  • Don't miss classes or labs;
  • Give yourself enough time to study everyday to keep up with the material.
Don't get a ticket...

If you do not have a current Foothill or DeAnza College parking permit properly displayed on your vehicle, you WILL get a ticket in you park on campus. Parking regulations are enforced 24 hours a day, everyday of the week. And they are not cheap tickets.

Day permits are available at the yellow vending machines in every parking lot. They cost $2 per day. The machines take both dollar bills and quarters, but be sure to bring quarters since sometimes the dollar-bill feeds don't work.

Speaking of parking, the parking lot numbers roughly correspond to the thousand number designations of the campus rooms. So for the 5100 rooms, parking lot 5 is the closest lot; for the 8700 rooms, lot 8 is the closest lot.
